United States President, Donald Trump has confirmed the death of his ‘good friend’, Kim Jong-Un in a latest tweet on Twitter today, Sunday, April 26, 2020, at 6:37 am (ET+9).
Donald Trump who was earlier debunked the reports on the demise of North Korean leader, Kim Jong-Un, has taken to twitter to confirm the latter’s death.
He tweeted; “Was just informed that the News on the death of my good friend and leader Kim Jong-un is true. America pledges its support to the family of Kim and North Korea!”
President Trump is the first powerful man in the world to confirm the report on the death of his ‘good friend’ a few minutes after the news hit several global news portals.
Earlier, President Trump threw cold water on reports that North Korean leader Kim Jong-un was gravely ill but declined to say if he had been in touch with officials there.
“I think the report was incorrect,” Mr Trump said at a daily White House briefing, adding that he had heard it was based on “old documents.”
Kim Jong-Un’s death was first speculated by a vice director of HKSTV Hong Kong Satellite Television, a Beijing-backed broadcast network in Hong Kong, claimed that Kim was dead, citing a “very solid source.” Her post on the Chinese messaging app Weibo has been shared widely on social media, according to a report in the International Business Times.
