Package maker Umbro has apologised after a shirt for a soccer membership in Northern Eire drew comparisons with a paramilitary group’s colors.

The purple and orange of Linfield FC’s away strip for subsequent season, which was launched final week, have been likened to the colors of the Ulster Volunteer Power.

Now Umbro has stated sorry for any offence induced and stated it won’t be selling the package.

The sportswear firm stated: “At Umbro we imagine within the unifying and democratic energy of soccer. This is the reason we’re against all types of discrimination, discriminatory behaviour and violence.

“Package designs are a collaborative course of and this package was based mostly purely on steerage from the membership.
