An employee working at a medical centre in Miami succumbed to COVID-19, one of many frontline workers felled by this vicious virus.
If that wasn’t bad enough, reports in South Beach indicate the worker’s parents, poised to celebrate their golden anniversary, also died of the disease.
According to NBC Miami, Mario Mayorga Jr., who worked for a cleaning service, was diagnosed with coronavirus in mid-March.
The TV report said Mayorga Jr. lived with his parents and sister, who each tested positive for the virus.
Only the sister survived.
It wasn’t known where Mayorga Jr. was infected.
The couple and daughter were tested after Mario Jr. was hospitalized with severe symptoms that required bypass surgery and a ventilator, according to a family member when contacted by the TV station.
