A driver has been charged with murder in London, England because a woman he allegedly ran over died almost three months later after she was infected with COVID-19 while in hospital.
Robert Barrow, 54, was initially released on bail soon after his arrest for allegedly knocking down Tahereh Pirali-Dashti, 40, in a road rage attack in North London on Jan. 20.
Pirali-Dashti — whose 56-year-old husband was also punched in the attack — remained in hospital where she became infected, according to the Telegraph newspaper.
She died on April 10 from a combination of COVID-19, pneumonia and cardiac arrest, the paper reports.
Police say the murder charges resulted because the attack left Pirali-Dashti “in a critical condition until she died.”
Barrow was re-arrested last Friday and remanded in custody until July.
